Procedural Moss

I needed to redo the Escalation 1985 moss after seeing all the amazing work others did on their mosses on Artstation. I got inspired by Daniel Thiger's Signature series for Allegorithmic especially. The trick was (as usual) less is more. Instead of splattering leaves in a circle (causing me to lose overlap and directionality) I went with a narrower clump and it worked very well. Parameters include dead moss amount.

Scaled and tweaked version in-engine (UE) with some colour variation.  A bit dramatic, but in small amounts it works :D.
